Welcome to Brown Eyed Girl & Company Thank you for your interest in our hand-painted Dr. Scholl's sandals. These fabulous shoes from back in the day have made a snazzy comeback. Remember when we wore them just for comfort? Now, we wear them for their extreme cuteness as well.
About Brown Eyed Girl & Company
From the time our artist, Kristy Oakley Elswick could pick up a pencil, she has been drawing, painting or creating. Any scrap of paper, wood or drywall scrap became a work of art! Her talents eventually led her to a career in her beloved art. After volunteering to paint a children's mural at her church, Kristy was convinced by her husband Tim and her mom, Beverly, that she could make a career out of mural painting, so MURALS BY KRISTY was created in 1995. This business continues to thrive, with over 200 paintings completed, and still her clients pass her name on to their friends as a fair and ingenious artist. Kristy loves working her own hours so that she can devote most of her time to her three children: Morgan, Mallory, and Corbin.
So, how did Brown Eyed Girl & Company begin? A friend called Kristy and described the neat shoes she'd seen and insisted that Kristy must now decorate these wooden sandals with her art! Kristy and her mom decided to just jump right into this project since summer was slipping away, and of course, everyone wanted shoes! These two had been painting on every surface imaginable, so a shoe was no challenge. They already knew the preparation process which insures durability. Beverly's usually neat 50's room became a workshop and gathering place for the family as the work began ...and continues.
You will love the mood that your Scholl's sandals create. Choose a pair that makes you smile. If you don't see the design that you want, just ask. We will be happy to assist you in designing the shoes that fit your personality!
Some normal wear is expected; however, do be gentle as you walk in gravel, as it could cause chipping. The shoes are sealed with several coats of product to keep your design in tact. It is ok for them to get wet. Just wipe clean with a dry cloth. Do not use anything stronger than a mild soap to clean them. Do not use alcohol.
You and your hand-painted sandals should get along well for years. The only problem you may have is that you may want several pair!
